WHO WE ARE
Legacy Entrepreneurs is a boutique business brokerage based in Tennessee, serving seasoned owners who are ready to sell, step back, or simply prepare for what’s next. We specialize in high-integrity exits for Main Street and mid-market businesses—delivering not just deals, but peace of mind. Unlike volume-driven firms, we focus on relationships over transactions, working directly with owners to develop clear, strategic plans rooted in real-world value.
We believe every business deserves an exit that reflects the years of effort behind it. That means honest valuations, discreet buyer vetting, and a structured process built around your goals—not someone else’s timeline. Whether you’re exploring a full sale, need a valuation to get started, or want to reduce owner dependency by hiring a GM, we guide you through each step with clarity, empathy, and zero fluff.
Meet the founder
JOE STEIGMAN

I believe we’re in the middle of a powerful re-discovery: that small business ownership is one of the most reliable paths to long-term wealth. For owners, this is the time to recognize the true value of what you’ve built—and capitalize on it. For buyers, it’s the moment to acquire a proven business, carry forward someone else’s legacy, and build a future of your own.
To make that happen, Middle Tennessee doesn’t just need another broker. It needs a broker who understands what’s at stake—financially and personally. Someone who sees more than a deal. Someone who sees the owner behind it.
That’s why I do this work.
My career began in the U.S. Army as a logistics officer, where I managed the movement of people, equipment, and supplies across complex environments. I had the credentials to drive a 40-foot trailer—and the responsibility to calculate how much water 10,000 people needed down to the gallon. But more than anything, I learned how to break down complex systems into clear, repeatable steps—and lead teams to execute under pressure.
After the Army, I earned my MBA from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. From there, I launched a final-mile delivery business in North Carolina, managing growth with the help of a strong operations leader while working full-time as a management consultant.
As a consultant, I helped Fortune 100 companies build systems for scalable, repeatable success. I was drawn to the clarity and discipline of project-based work—but more than that, I appreciated working in environments where doing what’s best for the client was the north star.
Eventually, I stepped into the world of small business acquisition. I helped a close friend acquire a business in Washington state, served as an investor and head of his advisory board, and supported its growth through multiple expansion deals. That business later exited with a 4x return for investors. The formula was simple, but powerful: a capable owner, thoughtful leadership, and systems that didn’t rely on the founder. That’s what made it sellable—and valuable.
Now, I bring that same mindset to helping business owners in Middle Tennessee exit well. Selling is the goal, yes—but I’m here to protect your interests, honor your legacy, and help you transition with clarity, confidence, and peace of mind.
